Boxley Bed & Breakfast, Madison, North Carolina
The Boxley Bed & Breakfast is a beautiful Greek-Federal style home built in 1825. The house is connected by a colonade to the Dining Room - Kitchen wing built in 1785. All the rooms are spacious and gracious and decorated in period antiques. There are four bedrooms, each with a private bath. There are two bedrooms in the big house, one bedroom behind the kitchen area with a private entrance, and another bedroom in a guest cottage, separate from the house.
One hundred fifty year old English boxwoods adorn the front walkway to the house. In the backyard are many American boxwoods. There are gardens and sitting areas in the yard to enjoy. Birdwatching is a favorite past time because there are eight birdfeeders around the yard.
The porch is a wonderful place to sit and relax, feel the breeze and enjoy the peacefulness and serenity of the 19th century setting.
