Mendon Country Inn, Mendon, Michigan
Originally built in 1843 and known as the Western Hotel, the Wakeman House has a colorful history of stagecoach, train, and car travelers. Eight foot windows, high ceilings, fan lights, and spacious rooms throughout the building compliment the winding walnut spiral staircase in the lobby.Antique quilts adorn the walls.
The Mendon Country Inn offers 18 rooms with private baths. Each room is named and decorated accordingly. Some have one or two double beds and the regular rooms in the Inn have old fashioned Jensen fireplaces. The "Rooftop Garden" offers a view of the creek and is a great place to read, relax and sun bathe. The 2 Inn keepers Cottages have comfortable spacious lodging with private jacuzzi, gas fireplace as well as private bathroom with bar refridgerator & coffee making facilities. The Creekside Lodge offers 5 private suites decorated in Southwestern style with a deck overlooking the stream where guests can sit, relax and watch the wildlife. There are spacious lawns with outdoor grill and picnic tables where you can enjoy crochet or use the private putting green.
Free canoeing is available from the dock and bicycles built for two are also free for guests to use.
A full gourmet breakfast is served in the "Puddleberg Room" every morning prepared by your Innkeeper/Chef, Geff Clarke.
