Roanoke Island bed & breakfast in the Outer Banks of North Carolina
The Island House is located in the old fishing village of Wanchese on Roanoke Island, it is a small community that is quiet, quaint and close to the beautiful Nags Head beaches. She has been here since the early 1900's and has stood through many storms, fire, explosions and numerous owners who were not kind to her. The original owner was an US Coastguardsman who was stationed on Hatteras Island. The house didn't have bath rooms, was heated with small coal stoves and the kitchen was detached. We have tried to keep everything as original as possible but with modern conveniences to make your stay at Island House as comfortable as possible.
There are 3 bedrooms & 1 suite at the B&B and all are decorated with antiques, all rooms have queen size antique beds & 1 bed has an Comfort-aire mattress system with feather bedding to snuggle down with and relax after a long day on the beach. All rooms offer private baths,(1 with jacuzzi), ceiling fans and clock radios. Beach towels and chairs are available for our guests use. The Island House is a unique and romantic retreat which provides a smoke free adult atmosphere for its guest.
