La Vista Plantation is located in the lush Spotsylvania County countryside just outside the historic city of Fredericksburg, Virginia. In the 1860's, this quiet rural community became the backdrop for some of the fiercest fighting of the Civil War. The house reflects the classical revival style with high ceilings, wide heart pine floors, acorn and oak leaf moldings, and a two-story front portico. The ten acre grounds boast a fine balance of mature trees, flowering shrubs, pastures, woods, gardens, and pond stocked with large-mouth bass. La Vista's main floor bedroom features a magnificent king mahogany rice carved four poster bed, working fireplace, Empire-style antiques and a large private bath. Just outside, the front portico overlooks the lovely lawn with its ancient shade trees and border gardens. The Plantation Kitchen Suite offers a large bedroom with queen cherry pencil post canopy bed, working fireplace, private bath and entrance. A sitting room with queen sleep sofa, additional bedroom with a double bed and fully-equipped plantation kitchen complete the offering. Both units provide premium bedding,satellite TV, radio and phone. A full breakfast is served featuring fresh brown eggs from resident hens.
